PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:  This position has Human Resource responsibilities for all Opici Companies and associated joint ventures.  The Director of Human Resources will manage daily Human Resource departmental operations, business planning and budget development of HR Programs.  Advise and coach Managers on HR policies and programs including employee relations issues.  Plan, manage and coordinate all Human Resources initiatives, recruitment, training, and employee relations of the organization.  Ensure policies, procedures and HR programs are consistently administered, aligned with organizational goals and compliant with professional standards, state and federal regulatory requirements and laws.  Constantly and comprehensively review compensation and benefits to ensure the company is the best position to attract and retain the most talented productive employees.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • ALL aspects of Employee Life Cycle:  recruitment and onboarding from staffing requisition to final approval, including 30-60-90-day check-in along with Supervisor discussion, welcome/offer letters, exit interviews.  Internal and external postings as needed.  Manage the Employee Referral Program.
  • Creation and set up of Employee’s Digital File, communication to Payroll, provide supporting data to support proper set up in ADP Workforce Now.  
  • Creation and Management of Job Descriptions across the Enterprise.
  • Manage and provide counsel on Employment issues and manage Employee disciplinary action, warnings and terminations. 
  • Manage overall Employee Evaluation process. 
  • Management of legal issues with legal support when necessary.  
  • Manage Leave Administration and Workers’ Compensation Claims.
  • Drive the Organizational Planning Process as part of Strategic Planning Process, including development and maintenance of current and prospective organizational charts and budgets, including the development of on-going organization wide training materials and facilitation.
  • Participate in Union Negotiations.  Development of Employer Proposals, Draft of MOA’s and CBA’s
  • Work with committee to develop, improve and negotiate Benefits Packages that allow us to attract and retain the best talent possible.  Communication of Employee Benefit information.  Development and ongoing maintenance of the Employee Handbook.
  • Work collaboratively with the Payroll Department as needed.
  • Other projects as assigned by Management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) business/communications/human resources or related field.  Graduate degree preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 10 years progressive and relevant work experience in Human Resource Management.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office a must – Excel, Outlook, Word, Power Point and Teams.    
  • Strong understanding of Payroll and HRIS Systems – ADP Workforce Now preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Federal and State Family Leave laws and ADA.
  • Experience in leave administration and workers’ compensation.
  • Experience with Unionized Workforce helpful.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm. 
  • Ability to manage priorities, workflow and to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Highly available and approachable for all Opici employees.
  • Ability to travel to various Company locations.
