OPICI Family Distributing, a family-owned business in wine and spirits for over 100 years, is currently seeking a Key Account Manager for our Connecticut Market. POSITION SUMMARY: The Opici Group is looking for a dynamic outgoing Key Account Manager (KAM) to work with a family-owned company and represent fine wines and spirits from all over the world.
OPEN POSITIONS:
The Key Account Manager (KAM) is responsible for executing the Go-to-Market strategy in a target account universe for the supplier that they represent.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Take ownership of sales results, adjust, and rebalance both sales planning to drive success.
- Manage Top 40 Independent retail accounts for Focus Top 10 Vendors growth.
- Manage TOP Chain Retail Buying Groups for top Focus Top 10 Vendors growth.
- These accounts will be segmented into strategic growth tiers (Tiers 1-3)
- Weekley Expectations – Conduct a minimum of 15-20 in person accounts calls per week
- Growth Expectations – Quarterly Benchmarks of +10% Growth YOY
- Manage communication from VPS, OPM and RM.
- Including but not limited to –
-New placements per priority brand -Displays built or secured
-Supplier program compliance updates - Increase our brand awareness and visibility in their universe through quality training.
- Manage budgets: Time & Expense and Samples
- Own the relationships in key accounts. Work in the field with sales team, and champion the communication between their outlets, suppliers, sale teams and department heads.
- Attend Dinners and Company functions as needed outside of normal business hours.
- Compile “Wins of the Week” and distribute to the Connecticut Team.
- Manage Open Sales Routes when necessary
- Onboarding Training for New Sales Associates and Key account check ins with existing sales team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 5 years industry sales experience.
- WSET Level 2 or WSET Spirits preferred.
- 4-year College Degree or equivalent preferred.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office is a must with an emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint usage.
- Excellent organizational, planning and management skills.
- Experience in Common industry software preferred – Diver (Power user), CRM, Seven Fifty/Provi.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication Skills – ability to problem solve.
- Multi-tasking capability (Adaptable & Flexible).
- Ability to work extended hours if required.
- Ability to travel throughout the State of Connecticut.
